Wig Colors & Codes
There are so many numbers and codes used in wig colors, but what do they mean? Let's look at them.
Color numbering
1 = Black
1B = Off Black
2-12 = Browns (darkest to lightest)
14-26 = Blondes (darkest to lightest) 613 & 101-103
27-33 = Reds (darkest to lightest) 130-134
38-60 = Gray to White (darkest to lightest) 101
Color lettering
/ = even blend of colors
R or RT = Rooted
SS = Shadow Shade (Rooted)
SR = Shadow Root
LR = Long Root
MR = Micro Root
H = Highlighted
GR = Gradient
GM = Gradation Mix (Vivica Fox)
LF = Light Front
T or TP = Tipped
TT = Two Tone (Vivica Fox)
BT = Blended & Tipped
CH = Chunky Highlight
P (Piano) = Chunky Highlights (Vivica Fox)
F = Frosted or Foiled
FS = Frosted (Vivica Fox)
S or S+ = Spotlight
Color lettering - beginning of code
EL = Euro-Lite TressAllure, face-framing highlights
G = Gabor
GF = Gabor Heat Friendly
GL = Gabor Flexlite Luminous
G + = Gabor Flexlite Plus
MC = Kim Kimble
NM = Natural Movement: Amore, Noriko, & René of Paris
R = Estetica (radiant)
R = Raquel Welch Vibralite (regular synthetic)
RL = Raquel Welch Heat Friendly
Notes:
Some brands use number codes for their colors while other brands use words for their colors.
Any letters prior to the numbers usually indicates the brand or something that is specific to that brand.
The placement of the number inside the code matters. For example, R or RT followed by a number means that the color number following is the color of the root.
